Cookie Policy
Last updated · July 24, 2026
This Cookie Policy is provided under the Italian Data Protection Authority’s decision of 10 June 2021 (“Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools”), Directive 2002/58/EC (“ePrivacy”) and theGDPR. Data Controller: PINKY BRAINS S.r.l. — see thePrivacy Policy for full details.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by the sites you visit. Similar technologies (e.g. localStorage) perform comparable functions and are subject to the same rules. By purpose we distinguish technical cookies (strictly necessary — no consent required, Art. 122 Italian Privacy Code) and analytics / profilingcookies (requiring prior consent).
2. What this Site uses
2.1 Technical / strictly necessary (always active)
These are first-party values stored in your browser; no consent is required.
| Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
trays.cookieConsent | localStorage | Persistent (until cleared) | Remembers your cookie choice so the banner isn’t shown again. |
trays.launchMode | localStorage | Persistent | Controls whether the site shows the launch page or the waitlist page. |
trays.waitlist.joined | localStorage | Persistent | Remembers that you already joined the waitlist in this browser. |
2.2 Stripe (functional — checkout only)
On the /checkout page we load Stripe’s embedded checkout to take payment securely. Stripe sets its own functional cookies used to process the payment and prevent fraud. These load only when you open checkout.
| Name | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
__stripe_mid | Stripe | 1 year | Fraud prevention (device identifier). |
__stripe_sid | Stripe | 30 minutes | Fraud prevention (session identifier). |
See Stripe’s privacy policy andcookie policy for details.
2.3 Analytics (first-party, only after consent)
With your consent we use our own, privacy-first analytics to understand how the Site is used (page views, clicks on buttons, checkout and waitlist steps, time on page). It is first-party and cookieless: no Google Analytics, no advertising, retargeting or social tracking, and no data is shared with third parties. Data is sent to our own server; your IP address isnot stored. It loads only after you accept via the banner, and stops if you withdraw consent.
| Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
trays.sid | sessionStorage | Session (cleared when the tab closes) | Anonymous session identifier so page views in one visit can be counted together. Not a cookie; never leaves as a cross-site identifier. |
3. Managing your consent
On your first visit a cookie banner lets you:
- Accept — enable our first-party, cookieless analytics (§2.3);
- Reject — keep only strictly-necessary storage, no analytics (equal-prominence choice).
You can change your choice at any time via thelink in the footer of every page. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
4. Disabling cookies in your browser
You can configure your browser to block or warn about cookies. Disabling strictly-necessary storage may break parts of the Site. See:
5. Transfers outside the EU
Stripe processes some data in the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision (EU) 2023/1795) or, residually, the Standard Contractual Clauses(Decision (EU) 2021/914).
6. Your rights
You may access information about stored cookies, withdraw consent, and object to processing. For the full set of GDPR rights (Art. 15-22) and how to exercise them, see the Privacy Policy or write toinfo@pinkybrains.com.
7. Changes
Updates are published here with a new “last updated” date. For material changes (e.g. introducing analytics) the banner will be shown again to collect new consent.
